Automatic
Gain
Control
(AGC) is
the the
automatic
regulation
(electronically)
of the
gain of
a
receiver
in
inverse
proportion
to the
received
signal
strength.
This
allows,
within
certain
limits,
the
audio
output
of a
receiver
to
remain
relatively
constant
over a
range of
fading
signal
conditions.
Automatic
Gain
Control
circuit
automatically
adjusts
the
input
gain of
a
device,
in order
to
provide
a safe
and
consistent
signal
level.
AGCs can
be handy
features,
but
professional
applications
often
require
manual
gain
control
for
optimum
results. |
