require pointers to be tagged, it does not attempt to ensure that all
inaccessible storage is reclaimed.

SGI, Alpha/OSF/1, Sequent (single threaded), Encore (single threaded), RS/600,
HP-UX, Sony News, A/UX, Amiga, NeXT.
